John Offutt, the owner of Peninsula Flooring & Remodeling, is one of the very best, honest, thorough and proactive contractors my wife and I have had the pleasure of knowing. He walked our townhome with us, always asking questions based on our "wish list" and providing design ideas where needed. He and Micah performed outstanding work for us, came in on budget and provided us with quality craftsmanship. Sally and I are definitely using John for future projects. Project: Remodel or Renovate One or More Rooms
Sally and I were referred to John Offutt by our realtor when we bought a 3-story town house in Old Town Tacoma. Remodeling was paramount. John met with Sally and me right away. He asked many questions to ensure both he and we knew what we really wanted. John put together a budget and helped us tweak it by offering very good ideas which helped us save money on the project. He and Micah were outstanding! They focused on our project. During construction, if a problem arose, John ALWAYS had ideas for how to address the issue. Sally and I could not have found a better contractor - skilled, focused, considerate, knowledgeable about design and honest. We continue to ask John to help us with smaller projects. For anyone out there who is looking for a remodel contractor: consider yourself very fortunate if you find a contractor you trust, like and who cares about what YOU want. That is what John and Micha gave us. We are enormously grateful for their craftsmanship.

Project: Install or Completely Replace Wood Flooring
This is the second project for which we hired Peninsula Flooring & Remodeling. We were so pleased with the bathroom remodel they did, that we didn't hesitate to hire them for another major project. And a major project it was, we had carpeting and laminate torn up and replaced with hardwood floors in the mudroom, the hallways, the dining room, an office, the guest room, the kitchen and the living room - all at the same time. John and Micah did an excellent job while minimizing the inconvenience. They moved the furniture into the garage prior to tearing up the existing flooring and moved it back once the job was completed. A clean-up was performed at the end of each day, making it possible to live a fairly normal life during the two-week process. They even went out of their way to fix mistakes - made by the original builder - in the kitchen before installing the new flooring. This is just what they do, always going above-and-beyond to ensure that the final result is even better than we had envisioned. We highly recommend this company. John and Micah are trustworthy, hardworking, and take pride in a job well done.

Project: Install Carpentry Framing
10 stars!! John was a lifesaver! He did a truss repair, so that we could roof our home. He saved us thousands, upfront. He used common sense solutions, that fixed our problem in 3 days, what a multi-million dollar company couldn't do. Do things happen for a reason...YOU BET THEY DO. His work was so outstanding, we fired the company we had to roof our house and hired PENINSULA FLOORING AND REMODELING. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. HIRE THIS MAN TO BE YOUR GENERAL CONTRACTOR. He does it all. Such a professional. We are completely, totally, satisfied!

John is a very honest, dependable, hardworking guy. He has a eye like a hawk for detail. His professional abilities, and knowledge of the many types of materials, made our master bathroom come together without breaking the bank. Kept us up to date on all aspects of the job. Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Our two bathrooms turned out great. John listened to us and responded with ideas and materials in keeping within our budget. He problem-solved every step of the way from choosing the right paint colors to repairing water damage from the roof to the floor. Making sure we were happy with the finished project was his first concern. John went above and beyond what was expected.

Project:Rebuild Patio Cover
Exceptional experience from beginning to end. John Offutt, is a competent craftsman, honest businessman, and responsible professional. A good communicator, John responded to my initial telephone inquiry within 15 mins. and continued to keep me informed throughout the project. Rebuilding the patio cover involved tearing down an old patio cover,14 x 36 ft.; repairing the roof where it was attached and completely rebuilding a new patio cover, 16 x 36 ft. with 4 large skylights, and electrical lighting. This venture involved working with a roofing company and John coordinated all aspects of this joint venture so it went smoothly. Change orders were handled with out difficulty. John and carpenter, Mark did beautiful work and they cleaned up the work site at the end of every day on the job. Without hesitation, I will employ John Offutt again to do other remodeling projects in my home.

John and his team remodeled our kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, deck and refinished our hardwood floors. These projects included moving walls, doorways, new plumbing and new electrical. John was very accessible from day one. He responded promptly to our bid request and was able to start our project immediately. He not only helped with material selection, but was available to help us pick up materials we personally ordered. John was upfront with us throughout the entire process which made us very comfortable making hard decisions. His team, Micah and Mark, were always friendly and took the time to explain what they were doing whenever we stopped by the house. Their attention to detail, from carpentry to tile work, was great. My parents were also involved throughout the process; John and his team were very polite and helpful with all of their questions and additional projects they requested. Our initial project size doubled throughout the remodel and they were able to accommodate every change. Our remodel took a little longer than expected due to the additional projects and inspection delays but we are very happy with the final product. Even after completion, John and his team help us with any problem we run into with the house (replacing a light and fixing two problems with our kitchen cabinets). We would definitely use them again for our future remodeling projects.

John and his crew did a great job with our basement remodel. They dealt very well with scope creep and kept us appraised of the ongoing costs. Early on in the project there was a bit of a hiccup and John promptly took care of it with no additional cost. I really appreciated the old-fashioned honesty and integrity he brought to the project. We will look to him when we have another project.
